GBTS Lead Software Engineer – Ground-Based Training Systems (Aerospace/Aviation)


Key Responsibilities

As GBTS Lead Software Engineer, you will:

  • Lead end-to-end software development projects for simulation and training systems.
  • Work with systems engineers to ensure all software requirements are clearly defined, traceable, and testable.
  • Design and implement front-end and back-end software for Windows, Linux, and web applications.
  • Create automated tests, validation procedures, and comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of software developers to meet project goals.
  • Support V&V (Verification & Validation) activities for training system integration.

Your Qualifications

We're looking for a software engineering leader who brings:

  • A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in cross-platform software development: Windows, Linux, and Web.
  • Strong leadership in agile development environments; capable of managing small project teams.
  • Solid programming experience with:
    • JavaScript, HTML5 (front-end web development)
    • C++, C#/.NET (desktop and back-end systems)
    • Git for version control
  • Bonus points for experience in:
  • Computer-Based Training Systems (CBT)
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Aviation software standards like MIL-STD-498, IEEE/EIA 12207
  • Excellent command of English (C1 or higher). Additional languages are a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and a collaborative, solution-focused mindset.
